Mavis Marie (Maddox) Broussard

Mavis Marie Maddox Broussard, age 60, a native of DeQuincy and a resident of Sulphur, La., died Monday, June 27, 2011, at Christus St. Patrick in Lake Charles, La. She was a Baptist By Faith. Mavis will always be remembered as being spirited, energetic and outspoken. She loved her children and grandchildren and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing on hand held video games as well as playing cards. She is survived by her: daughters-Laura Fontenot and husband Coby of Lake Charles, Connie Daigle and Fiance' Jackie Parker of Moss Bluff. Brothers-Aubrey Maddox and wife Francis, Pete Maddox, Elbert Maddox all of DeQuincy, Sisters-Loretta Calderon of Orlando, Florida, Neysa Johnson and husband Thomas of Sulphur, LA and five grandchildren. She is also survived by Lawerence Daigle her first husband of 17 years. She was preceeded in death by her parents Lee (Travis) Maddox and Hilda (Holmes) Maddox, her husband of 10 years Sydney Gregory Broussard, and sisters Rose Lee and Betty Alldridge. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday, June 30, 2011 and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Friday, July 1, 2011 at Christensen Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at Christensen Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Friday, July 1, 2011 with Rev. Wayne Neyland officiating. Interment will be at Masonic Cemetery in Dequincy, La.
